Azerbaijan and Latvia signed an agreement on environmental cooperation in Baku on June 25.

The document was signed by Azerbaijani Ecology Minister Huseyn Bagirov and Latvian Environment Minister Raymons Veyonis.

Latvia has an interesting experience on environmental protection, Bagirov said. "The framework agreement will enable to coordinate joint action and to study each other's ecology experience," minister said.

In many rating Latvia is assessed as ecologically stabile country, Veyonis said. "It is high time to share years-long ecology experience with other countries. The agreement will give an impetus to bilateral cooperation between the two states," Latvian minister said.

Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry has signed cooperation agreements with Georgia, Turkey, Germany, Iran, Moldova, Ukraine, Czech Republic and others.
