Azerbaijani FM receives MEP

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received MEP from Finland Anelli Zhaateemaki, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Stressing that it is her first visit to Azerbaijan, Mrs. Zhaateemaki said that during her visit to the country, she will attend the conference to be held in Baku on 16 April, entitled "2010 Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan: more democratic, more transparent." The guest from Finland said that relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union are at a high level, and asked about the efficiency of the Eastern Partnership program in the intensification of these relations.
In his turn, Mammadyarov highly assessed the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, noting the role of Eastern Partnership in expanding cooperation, and assessed the program as an important factor in the process of integration into European structures.
Then, the parties exchanged views on other processes in the region and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
