The processing center AzeriCard launched a new version of mobile banking, the Head of AzeriCard Business Development Department Jahangir Mammadov told Trend on Monday.
He said that one feature of the new version of mobile banking is that it is not tied to a specific mobile operator. Subscribers of all three mobile operators (Bakcell, Azercell, and Azerfon) have access to mobile payments. This happens due to data transmission technologies (GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, etc.).
Additional applications must be downloaded to use this service, which will soon be made available using AzeriCard online resources and bank web sites already using this service.
"The advantage of the new version of mobile banking is that it does not require visiting a bank to change the Sim-card, etc." he said. "The application has already been sent to all ATMs. Bank customers using the first version of mobile banking can already connect to the new one."
Mobile banking services allow users to check their account online around the clock, draw reports on account transactions, pay electricity, mobile, fixed communications, and Internet service bills, to transfer money from one card to another, pay and purchase electronic tickets, and to receive SMS notifications for each transaction.
Applications will expand to assume additional functions.
