The technical base of the Azerbaijani Delta Telecom's DATA-center has been extended, the company told Trend today.
The center has about 60 percent of Internet resources of AzNET segment.
The preference is given to national Internet resources registered in the international domain zones and domain az.
According to the company's forecasts, about 85 percent of the global network content will be placed in the DATA-center. Baku will be a new point of high level backbone network after the West.
One of important functions of the DATA-center is to reduce costs. This also plays an important role in the development of Azerbaijani-language content resources.
The DATA-center was commissioned in October 2009. It is a specialized technical area designed for keeping national Internet resources.
