The first batch of DVB-T decoders for digital television produced on the PEYK plant under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan, will go on sale in late January, early February 2013, plant manager Siyavush Aliyev informed Trend.
According to Aliyev, the company purchased the components necessary for deployment of mass production. Testing of the first models of the decoders will be completed within the next 10 days.
The first batch of the finished product will comprise 1000 units. The devices will be brought to market under the brand name of DVB-T PEYK and the cost will be fully consistent with market prices.
As mentioned by Aliyev, production of the devices will be regulated in accordance with consumer demand.
The supplier of the components for digital tuners is Chinese company BBK Electronics Corp., LTD whose products are now in demand in a number of CIS countries and Eastern Europe.
