The number of visits to the e-government portal (e-gov.az) from January to May 15 exceeded 198.5 million, the Information Computing Centre (ICC) of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend on Friday.
According to the ITC, new visitors made up 63.07 per cent of the total number of users.
The ITC said 93 per cent of the total number of visits to the portal accounts for Azerbaijan, while the remaining portion falls to such countries as the USA, Russia, UK, Turkey, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Denmark and others.
The portal is designed to reduce the number of documents requested from citizens due to the fact that various institutions will be interacting with each other electronically. A digital signature (EDS) is required to use the electronic services. As of May 1, the total number of electronic signatures issued by the National Certification Authority exceeded 11,900.
According to the ICC, the number of approved electronic services is 417 of which 205 are available on the portal.
The total number of e-services available on the websites of government agencies of Azerbaijan is 403.
In April, 166 e-services of government agencies were used 50,161 times through the e-government portal, or 72.9 per cent more than in March.
