State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) was named as the best business company in Georgia. The award ceremony was held in the Tbilisi hotel 'Courtyard by Marriott' yesterday evening.
The Georgian Times media holding and Association of Public Opinion and Marketing Researches (GORBI) named the top 25 company winners in the business ranking of the year in Georgia.
SOCAR representative in Georgia Mahir Mammadov expressed his gratitude to the organisers of the award ceremony stressing that the company has been successfully participating in such contests since 2006.
"Our company's work is aimed at the business development. However we implement many social projects and support Georgia's sport and culture. This testifies to our multilateral work."
Media holding President Malkhaz Gulashvili said at the press conference that initially some 50 companies were chosen. The professional jury chose 25 for awards.
He said the rating included companies transferring one and over one million lari to the budget of the country.
The Ministry of Finance, the International Chamber of Commerce, Georgian Business Association, U.S Chamber of Commerce and Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are partners of the event.
