Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius received the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Kamaladin Heydarov on Wednesday, Elta reports.
The sides discussed the signed bilateral agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations as well as the possibilities of economic cooperation.
"An agreement on mutual assistance in the field of prevention and liquidation of extreme situations ratified by the Sejm on May 30 is another example of successful bilateral cooperation. Despite the growth in bilateral trade and investment, the potential has not been fully used. So, we invite entrepreneurs to actively cooperate in the field of high technology, design, construction," the press service of the government cited the Prime Minister as saying.
During the meeting, Butkevičius reiterated the importance of the Eastern Partnership format and invited representatives of Azerbaijan to the events to be held in the framework of the Eastern Partnership in Vilnius in November.
