Azerbaijan and France agreed to cooperate in the spheres of information and communications technologies and space communication, according to the protocol signed at the seventh meeting of Azerbaijani-French Intergovernmental Economic Commission on Nov.26 in Baku.
The sides expressed readiness to cooperate in the construction of low orbit satellites. The protocol said that the adopted decision will be a base for strategic cooperation between the two countries. French participation in the project to launch the second telecommunications satellite of Azerbaijan contributes to the strengthening of cooperation.
In addition, the parties expressed their intentions to sign an intergovernmental agreement on exhanging information in the near future.
Moreover, the protocol emphasizes a desire to cooperate nanotechnology, the TASIM project, in the sphere of creation of technoparks, in creation of digital television network and so on.
In addition, in order to strengthen interaction, the sides reached an agreement on coordination of all aspects of the draft agreement on cooperation between Azerbaijan and France in the spheres of innovations and information technologies.
As is expected, the document will be signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and the Ministry for SMEs, Innovation and the Digital Economy of France.
