E-signatures issued in Azerbaijan increase over seven times in 2013

The amount of electronic digital signatures (e-signatures) issued by the National Certification Services Center of Azerbaijan in 2013 increased over 7.6 times and amounted to 17,834 as of January 1, 2014, Data Processing Center (DPC) of Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry told Trend on Jan. 14.

Government bodies were provided with 12,343 e-signatures, 729 e-signatures were issued to legal entities and 4762 to citizens.

The visits to 'Electronic Government' (e-gov.az) website significantly increased. Early last year the number of visits to the website stood at 6600 whereas. This figure stood at 262,566 as of January 1, 2014. Over 2013, the number of visits to the website increased from 8928 to 456,712.

The electronic services available on the portal were used 736,447 times over the past period.

The 'Electronic Government' website provides 217 electronic services. In total, the websites of Azerbaijani government bodies render 454 services.

The 'Electronic Government' website is a key tool for supporting work with citizens and businesses, belonging to the state and private sectors. It aims at reducing the number of documents required by the citizens, with the help of an electronic interaction among different bodies.

The access to the portal is conducted with the help of e-signature, the identity data of the private entrepreneurs and citizens, verification data (login and password), as well as mobile authentication system, which can be obtained in an electronic form after registering on the portal.
