The working group on the TransEurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) is preparing the principle agreement on the construction project of the cable line, a source close to the project told Trend.
The document is quite complex in its structure, and the parties still have details to develop, the source said.
Document is designed to define the business model of the project, as well as the way in which traffic management, distribution of investment and income will be implemented.
"As regards to the date of signing the principle agreement, in view of the complexity of the document, it may be postponed," the source said.
Earlier, it was planned to sign the document in mid -2014.
The agreement in principle is supposed to resolve the issue as laying the Caspian segment of cable line, which is part of the TASIM project.
In general, there is high interest in the project from its participants. The main issues discussed by the parties, are the study of market volume, capacity of communication channels, the construction of the project management structure.
At present, TASIM project involves countries such as Russia (Rostelecom operator), Kazakhstan (KazTransCom operator), Turkey (TurkTelecom operator), and China (China Telecom operator). In this project Azerbaijan is represented by the Center for International Relations and Calculations under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies.
The project aims to reduce poverty, accelerate economic growth, and can also play a leading role in the development of the region.
TASIM project is intended to connect a total of 20 countries. Its implementation will eliminate the information gap between Western Europe and the Pacific Basin.
