The initial gas supply from Iran (50 million cubic meters a year) will provide 40% of population of Nakhchevan with this fuel, the chairman of the �Nakhchevan Gas” Ltd Ali Novruzov told the Trend regional correspondent.
According to him, totally 350 million cubic meters of natural gas will be supplied by Iran till 2007. The financial means to be spent on these works will be less than 250 billion AZM. According to Novruzov, laying of the natural gas pipeline to the regions has started and till 2007 the 100% of population of Nakihchevan will be provided with natural gas.
It should be noted, the ceremony of first deliveries of the Iranian gas to Nakhchevan was held on 20 December with participation of Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents.
