Azerbaijan, Baku /corr Trend S.Aliyev / Azerbaijan company Trans Gate and the South Korean Company Daewoo International signed a credit agreement in Baku on the purchase of large passenger buses.
The first phase of the delivery will begin in March 2007. Within this stage it is planned to purchase around 200 buses and further 500 more at a later stage. The estimations testify that around 800 large buses and 2,000 mini buses are required to ensure normal passenger transportation within the country.
The first 53 buses will be supplied to Baku within 3 months and the balance within the next 4 months.
Work will be carried out in accordance with the Presidential Decree ' On Improvement of Baku City Transport System in 2006-2007' . The purchase of new buses will resolve some of the problems in the transport infrastructure, as well as improve the services to passengers.
