The uniform for the First European Games has been presented in Baku.
Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijani minister of youth and sports, chief executive officer of Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee (BEGOC) and Simon Clegg, the chief operating officer of BEGOC became the first recipients of the uniform and the accreditation cards.
Speaking at the presentation, Azad Rahimov said that the European Games is the largest sports event to be held in Azerbaijan, adding that Baku will be in the spotlight of the sports world.
"I have no doubt that the staff and volunteers of the Games will be proud to wear their uniforms," said Rahimov.
"They will popularize our country and its hospitality at a high level," he said.
Simon Clegg, for his part, said that the European Games will become the historical event for Azerbaijan.
"I am pleased that the preparations for the world-class event are carried out in accordance with the plan," he said. "The presentation of the uniform and accreditation card brings us one more step closer to the sports festival."
The uniform for the 1st European Games was produced by Giltex firm, Azerbaijan's biggest integration textile company.
A total of 110,000 full sets of uniform of seven types will be produced. The whole staff of BEGOC will get the uniforms in the coming weeks.
Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place on June 12-28, 2015.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
