European Games opening ceremony was held at Olympic level – head of German ARD-Radio

The opening ceremony of the first European Games in Baku was held at the Olympic level, it is already possible to hold the Olympic Games as well in the capital of Azerbaijan, the head of the office of the German ARD-Radio Hermann Krause, who is in Baku, told Trend June 15.
Krause said that he first visited Baku in the late 80s. "Baku has changed dramatically," said Krause. "Today Baku is a great, unique city, there is no other such a city in the world. Only you have it."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
