The repair of Azerbaijan's Dede Gorgud floating semisubmersible drilling rig, which is currently at the Baku Shipyard, is expected to be finished in early August, a source on the country's oil and gas market told Trend June 30.
He said that the installation of four diesel generators is already completed on the platform.
"Currently, installation of panel transformers is underway on the platform, unit for back-up generator and its fuel tank is being manufactured, as well as temperature control system is being modified," said the source. "There is no specific date of completion of the repair, as it depends on unpredictable factors - the weather, logistics and so on. But the repair should be completed in early August, according to the plan."
It was earlier reported that Dede Gorgud floating semisubmersible drilling rig would be sent to the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields after the repair.
Caspian Drilling Company (92.44-percent share is owned by SOCAR) is the operator of Dede Gorgud floating semisubmersible drilling rig.
