In Jan.-May 2015, the US imported from Azerbaijan 514,000 barrels of oil products, which is 10.7 times more than in Jan.-May 2014, said the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on its website.
In Jan.-May 2014, the US imported 48,000 barrels of oil products from Azerbaijan.
In 2014, the US imported from Azerbaijan 484,000 barrels of oil products, compared to 366,000 barrels imported in 2013.
After a long break (since 2009), the US resumed in 2012 the supply of oil products from Azerbaijan. Some 308,000 barrels of Azerbaijani oil products were delivered to the US in 2008.
The sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan is the country's state oil company SOCAR.
Previously, the oil products in Azerbaijan were produced at two oil refineries.
However, recently the Azneftyag oil refinery was liquidated and included to the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery.
