Repair of drilling rigs in Azerbaijan only indirectly affects the production process on the oil and gas fields, a source on the oil and gas market of Azerbaijan told Trend Sept.15.
The source said that there is a plan of mining and drilling for each field.
"Forecasts are made in accordance with this plan," said the source. "Because the platform is sent on repair and there is a certain delay there, in fact, some well starts giving gas later. However, all this is taken into account during the repair. It is necessary to change some parameters so that the terms of gas supply to consumers wouldn't be violated, especially in the winter."
Currently, two floating rigs are on the repair, Istiqlal at the Caspian Shipyard and Dede Gorgud at the Baku Shipyard.
The operator of both rigs is Caspian Drilling Company (CDC, 92.44 percent of the equity is owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan).
