By Maksim Tsurkov - Trend:

Azerbaijan is preparing a feasibility study of two alternative energy projects in Iran, Akim Badalov, head of Azerbaijan's State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources, told Trend Oct. 21.

He said that earlier a corresponding memorandum was signed by the Azerbaijani State Agency and Iran's Energy Ministry.

"Currently we are preparing a feasibility study for both projects," said Badalov.

He said one of the projects involves the creation of wind parks near the Iranian city of Khvaf, and the second one - the construction of geothermal power plants in the East Azerbaijan Province, near Tabriz.

"The issue regarding the financing of these projects will be settled once the Iranian side examines the feasibility study," said Badalov.
