Azerbaijan Insurers Association (ASA) plans to strengthen cooperation with international organizations the next year, according to ASA head Orkhan Bayramov.

"Next year we plan to establish direct contact with international organizations, various banks, associations, tourism agencies and so on," Bayramov said addressing a press conference Nov. 19.

He added that the ASA also plans to establish cooperation with Insurance Europe - a European insurance and reinsurance federation that represents interests of all types of insurance and reinsurance companies and coordinates their activities.

"We plan to reach that international organization [Insurance Europe] through our colleagues from Turkey and Russia, who are already its members," said Bayramov.

Meanwhile, he noted that the ASA isn't thinking about becoming a member to the Insurance Europe because of high requirements.

"Initially, we can think about an observer status, to obtain information or technical assistance," Bayramov explained. "Most of all, we need their systematic technical assistance."

He added that Azerbaijan will be more interested in the experience of the Czech Republic or Poland, rather than that of the UK.
