The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 1.1 million tons of oil products from Jan.-Nov. 2015 versus 1.07 million tons of oil products in the same period in 2014, the company's website said Dec.1.
SOCAR exported 1.2 million tons of oil products in 2014, compared to around 1.05 million tons in 2013.
Previously, oil products in Azerbaijan were manufactured at two refineries in Baku. Both of these refineries were included in SOCAR, which annually processes around 7 million tons of oil produced at onshore and offshore fields with its own funds.
SOCAR announced the liquidation of Azneftyag oil refinery and its merger with the Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery in December 2014.
The major part of Azerbaijani oil products is exported to Georgia.
