Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 7
By Ilhama Isabalayeva - Trend:
Tariffs for cargo and passenger traffic by rail won't be regulated by state on the territory of Azerbaijan, according to the decision of the country's Cabinet of Ministers to amend the "List of goods (work, services), the prices (tariffs) for which are regulated by state."
This decision was published Feb. 7 in the official press.
The country's Cabinet of Ministers has excluded tariffs for freight and passenger traffic by rail on the territory of Azerbaijan from this list.
Tariffs for other transport modes remain under the state regulation (road, air, sea, river, etc.).
The authorities to regulate tariffs for traffic by rail within the country have been transferred to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC in accordance with this decision of the country's Cabinet of Ministers, Head of the press-service of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Nadir Azmammadov told Trend Feb. 7.
"Previously, these functions were performed by the Tariff (Price) Council of Azerbaijan due to the fact that Azerbaijan Railways CJSC was subordinate to the country's ministry of transport," said Azmammadov. "However, in accordance with the decree of the president of Azerbaijan dated September 18, 2015, Azerbaijani Railways CJSC became an independent structure and was transferred to the jurisdiction of the country's Cabinet of Ministers."
