Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector showed a 3.3 percent growth in January-August 2016, while the oil sector – growth by 0.7 percent compared to the same period of 2015, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in a report.
According to the report, the total volume of industrial production (the volume of produced goods and rendered industrial services) in Azerbaijan amounted to 20.3 billion manat (official exchange rate for Sept. 19 is 1.6370 AZN/USD) in January-August 2016, which is 1 percent more than in the same period of 2015.
During the reporting period, the volume of production in the mining industry reached 13.3 billion manat (65.5 percent) of the entire industrial production, which is 1.3 percent more than in January-August 2015, the report said.
According to the report, oil production volume amounted to 28.16 million tons, while natural gas production was 19.76 billion cubic meters during the reporting period.
Oil production increased by 1.2 percent, gas production - by 5.6 percent in January-August 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, the report said.
The production volume in the processing industry amounted to 5.7 billion manat (28.2 percent of total industrial output) during the reporting period or by 0.4 percent more than in the same period of 2015, the report said.
In the sector, the highest growth was fixed in the production of computers, electronic products – by 2.2 times, weaving industry – by 2.7 times, repair and installation of machinery and equipment - by 62 percent, the report said.
