Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted a meeting with management of Azerbaijani office of Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology infrastructure. It was attended by BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov, CEO of Huawei Technologies Azerbaijan LLC Canlin Lu, the company Program Managers Eldar Jebrayilov and Ziven Tao, and the Higher School students and key staff members.
Opening the meeting, Rector Elmar Gasimov said that he would be very pleased to see Huawei among many transnational companies, which developed partnership with BHOS. He noted that cooperation between the teachers and students of the Higher School’s Process Automation Engineering Department and Huawei, which strives to support education of the next generation of qualified IT professionals, is aligned with its core values and social responsibility principles.
In the words of CEO of Huawei Technologies Azerbaijan LLC Canlin Lu, the company is interested in establishing partnership relations with BHOS, which trains specialists in line with international standards, and is ready to provide necessary support to this higher educational institution. Program Manager Ziven Tao made a presentation on the company history, main activities, products and services, and corporate policies and procedures. He also answered numerous questions asked by the students.
At the meeting, Memorandum of Understanding between BHOS and Huawei Technologies Azerbaijan LLC was signed. It aims at taking necessary logistical, procedural and organizational measures to train high-qualified engineers at BHOS. The areas of cooperation include organizing lectures for the BHOS students by the company experts, providing its library with textbooks and academic audio-visual aids, supporting establishment of a specialized laboratory at the BHOS campus and software procurement for teaching process. The company shall also organize intensive workshops for BHOS students, facilitate their participation in the company internship programs and create professional development opportunities for the BHOS graduates.
