According to statistics, there is a significant increase in the supply of carpets from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, Trend reports referring to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The number of countries importing Turkmen carpets increased in 2019, according to the customs service.
The main manufacturer of carpets and rugs in Turkmenistan is Abadan Khaly OJSC. The export of carpets and rugs in the first ten months of 2019 amounted to over 108,074 square meters. These products were mainly exported to Kazakhstan, Turkey and Afghanistan.
Turkmen carpet manufacturers intend to increase the export abroad. This is facilitated by modern technology, new generation equipment and government support.
Turkmenistan's Berkarar General Trading LLC launched the sales of Turkmen carpets on the well-known web trading platforms Alibaba, Amazon and Mercari.
Turkmen carpets are one of the country's famous brands, widely known beyond its borders. One of the main advantages of the carpet is its high density, which ranges from 200,000 to 400,000 knots in one square meter. Due to its high density, the carpet ornament is clear and expressive.
