The Azerbaijan Jewelers Association established contacts with large distributors in a number of Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in January 2022, chairman of the association Toghrul Abbasguliyev told Trend.

"The association is trying to help our producers in terms of establishing contacts with foreign importers," Abbasguliyev said.

According to him, on May 21-25, the International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry will be held in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara for the first time.

The head of the association noted that it’s planned to present several Azerbaijani brands such as Resm, Butali, Minali and Shamsa at this festival.

Companies representing these brands have already expressed their desire to take part in the festival, Abbasguliyev also noted.

"In the future, the list of countries importing Azerbaijani products will also include the states of Eastern Europe. Traditionally, importers of jewelry made in Azerbaijan are Italy, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand. A small share of the exports accounts for China and India," he added.

The Azerbaijan Jewelers Association was established in February 2020 on the initiative and with the support of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency.

The main mission of the association is to turn Azerbaijan into a regional jewelry hub.
