Jafarov said that record-breaking sales of electric and hybrid cars - 2.1 million were observed in the world in 2018.
Moreover, the representative of TOYOTA CENTER BAKU added that the manufacturing sector is facing such challenges as the disposal of electric car batteries.
“Europe plans to fully refuse the sale of cars running on diesel fuel from 2035,” Jafarov said. “The similar steps are being taken in Azerbaijan.”
The representative of TOYOTA CENTER BAKU thinks that the private sector in Azerbaijan can support automakers by creating corresponding centers for servicing environmentally friendly cars.
“The banking sector also plays a big role here,” Jafarov said. “The Central Bank of Azerbaijan is working with the Azerbaijan Banks Association to reduce interest rates on loans for the purchase of environmentally friendly cars.”
