BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. The value of gross agricultural output in Azerbaijan amounted to than 10.86 billion manat ($6.43 billion) from January through October in 2023, State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan told Trend.
Livestock farming accounted for more than 5.134 billion manat ($3.02 billion), while crop production accounted for more than 5.73 billion manat ($3.37 billion).
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, agricultural production increased by 3 percent, including 3.3 percent for livestock production and 2.7 percent for crop production.
Harvesting of agricultural crops continues, as of November 1.
The data for January through October in 2023 compared to same period last year:
- Grain and leguminous crops (3.172 million tons, +1.8 percent from last year)
- Potatoes (989,000 tons, +4 percent from last year)
- Vegetables (1.75 million tons, +1.4 percent from last year)
- Melons (438,000 tons, +6.5 percent from last year)
- Fruits and berries (1.084 million tons, +2.4 percent from last year)
- Grapes (217,000 tons, +6.3 percent from last year)
- Green tea leaves (1.102 million tons, +15.5 percent from last year)
- Sunflower (29,000 tons, +2.5 percent from last year)
- Sugar beets (125,000 tons, -18.6 percent from last year)
- Tobacco (4,000 tons, +12.2 percent from last year)
- Cotton (168,000 tons, -15.1 percent from last year)
