Azerbaijan expects production growth for all types of meat

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 4. Azerbaijan is forecasting a significant increase in live-weight meat production, notably high growth rates during 2024–27 for poultry and mutton meat, Trend reports, referring to the government source.

The total live-weight meat production in 2024 will be 661,000 tons, including 276,400 tons of beef, 188,000 tons of mutton, and about 196,000 tons of poultry meat.

From the total meat forecast of 679,700 tons in 2025, beef meat will account for 283,300 tons, poultry meat will account for 204,000 tons, and mutton meat will account for about 192,000 tons.

The country's total volume of meat production may reach almost 700,000 tons in 2026, including more than 290,000 tons of beef, 212,600 tons of poultry meat, and 195,800 tons of mutton.

Azerbaijan is forecasted to produce 721,200 tons of live-weight meat in 2027, including 298,300 tons of beef meat, 200,000 tons of mutton, and over 222,000 tons of poultry meat.

The State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan data shows that from January through November 2023, the country produced a total of 538,200 tons of meat in live weight, which is 3.1 percent more than the indicator of the same period in 2022.

Data for 2023 is expected in the second decade of January 2024.
