BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. Azerbaijan's GDP grew by five percent from January through February 2024 to 18.57 billion manat ($10.9 billion), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
The data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan shows that in the reporting period, value added in the non-oil sector increased by 10.1 percent, and in the oil and gas sector it decreased by 0.7 percent year on year.
In the GDP structure, industry accounted for 39.9 percent.
The committee's data also showed that in the above structure, trade and vehicle repairs accounted for 9.9 percent, transportation and warehousing - seven percent, construction - 5.5 percent, agriculture, forestry and fishery - 2.7 percent, tourism sector - 2.2 percent, information and communication sector - 1.8 percent, and other sectors - 19.8 percent.
Net import tax revenues amounted to 11.3 percent of GDP in the first two months of this year.
In the reporting period, GDP per capita in Azerbaijan amounted to 1,824 manat ($1,072).
To note, the country's GDP in 2023 amounted to 123 billion manat ($72.35 billion), which is growth of 1.1 percent.
