"We place great importance on our relations in the areas of transport and transit. The agreements reached at the level of heads of state regarding the increase in cargo flows serve as our roadmap, and we are making joint efforts in this direction. In the first half of 2024, the volume of transit shipments between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan reached 624,000 tons, which is 37 percent more than last year," he also said.
Mustafayev emphasized that the expansion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway’s capacity from one million tons to five million tons, as well as increasing the annual throughput of the Alat International Trade Port from 15 million tons to 25 million tons, enhances the opportunities and volumes of transit shipments between the two countries.
