Armenian Foreign Minister Says Serious Progress Achieved in Peace Talks

Turkey, Ankara, 22 September/ Trend , corr T. Aliyev/ Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan said in his interview with Turkish Milliyet newspaper that a serious progress has been achieved in the talks on the peaceful resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. There is a need for only political will, he said.

Armenian foreign minister said he supports conduct of trilateral meetings between Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan. " Turkey can help resolve Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. But everything must be solved within the framework of Minsk Group," Nalbandyan said.

Nalbandyan positively assessed the fact that Azerbaijani President did not mention using force in the resolution of the conflict in his last speech for the first time. Minister said his concerned about the fact that 35% of Azerbaijanis support resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by war.

Concerning Turkish-Armenian relations, Nalbandyan stated under "normalizing relations", Yerevan means establishment of diplomatic relations and opening of borders between the two countries. The "so-called Armenian genocide is not first condition. When relations are normalized, this problem will be discussed. No any Armenian government can refuse this problem not now, not in future.
