Azerbaijani Soldier in Armenian Captivity Sends Letter to His Family

Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 October/ Trend , corr K. Zarbaliyeva/ A soldier of Azerbaijani army taken captive by Armenia, has sent a letter to his family, Red Cross Committee in Baku said to Trend . Hasanov Rafiq Rahman oglu, 19, was taken captive by the Armenian military men on 8 October.

Representatives of the Red Cross Committee in Armenia have visited the captive twice. Hasanov has written a letter to his family and it was delivered to the parents of the captive. The treatment and the conditions in which he is held a captive conform to international standards, a letter said. The father of the captive Rahman Hasanov said Trend that after his son was taken captive a source in the military unit called them and said that his son has escaped from the military unit. Rahman Hasanov said he found about his son's being taken hostage from television.

State Commission on Hostages, POWs and Missing People said measures are taken to release the captive.
