Foreign minister: Nagorno-Karabakh conflict - threat to the European Neighbourhood Policy

Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains a direct threat to the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said on Monday at the sixth meeting of foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership of the European Union in Luxembourg, the press office reported.
"Events after the Vilnius summit created many new challenges in the region of the Eastern Partnership. All conflicts in the Eastern Partnership in a similar scenario occurred and led to such serious consequences as a violation of the territorial integrity, occupation and separatism. It is time to demonstrate a unified position and solidarity to all conflicts in the region ", - said Mammadyarov.
Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains an obstacle to the full use of the Eastern Partnership, the minister said.
"Official Baku expects the EU displays a clear answer to the challenges that exist in the region on security, taking into account its commitment to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is also urged to implement the UN Security Council adopted resolutions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Azerbaijan also strongly believes that the liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories by Armenia will lead to peace and security in the region, which for a long time awaiting the peoples of the region and the international community, "- said Mammadyarov.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister also noted that the official Baku has repeatedly stated its willingness started work on a large peace agreement.
