Azerbaijan Awaits Response from Active OSCE Chairman Regarding Fires in Azerbaijan's Occupied Territories Azeri Foreign Minister
Azerbaijan awaits response from the active chairman of OSCE, Belgian foreign minister Karl de Guht regarding the fires in Azerbaijans occupied territories, Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov told journalist on September 1, Trend reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan awaits to receive this answer in the near future. Right after it, it will be clear how to continue the work in this direction. Our primary goal is that the experts of Azerbaijan, Armenia and international experts jointly work for preventing the fires, he added.
Answering the question of the correspondent of Trend, Mammadyarov stressed
that Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanyan expressed consent for joint action in this direction, but the official position isnt clear yet. If monitoring is held, first we should define the mandate of the expert group, the minister underlined.
According to Mammadyarov, the main fact is to achieve that the proposals of Azerbaijani side are accepted. Azerbaijan submitted a project of resolution to UNO, and next week this question will be resolved in New York, he emphasized.
Besides, Mammadyarov pointed out that the exact date and place of the meeting between Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers havent been defined yet. The meeting is scheduled for the middle of September in Paris or London.
