PACE Ad Hoc Committee Meets re Nagorno-Karabakh

France, Strasbourg / corr Trend E.Mejidli / The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Ad Hoc Committee are holding a meeting in Strasbourg on 17 April . The Armenian delegation has refused to participate.

The discussions focused on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and included a tour of the region by the head of the Committee, Russel Johnston. It was decided to hold the next meeting in June.

After the meeting MP Samad Seyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE informed journalists that the Armenian delegation's refusal to participate in the meeting confirms their weakness. Seyidov added that during the tour of the region, Johnston confirmed his attendance to the June meeting. He regarded the absence of the Armenian delegation from the meeting as not serious. The next meeting scheduled for June will be dedicated to this subject.
