Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr P. Aliyeva / A resident of Azerbaijan's Lankaran region's Gumbashi village Malik Habibov, 50, a father of four children, died as a result of pharmaceutical poisoning on 25 October.
Preventative research operations carried out by the Azerbaijani National Security Ministry in Lankaran region a month ago revealed several pharmaceutical manufacturing plants. Several people are being held accountable and over ten drugstores were shut down in the region.
Habibov suffered from neurological problems and cardiac failure and died from an overdose as a result of an unidentified medicine. He was delivered to the Central Hospital of the region and was diagnosed with hard pharmaceutical poisoning. The physicians that attended to Habibov failed to save him, the Deputy Prosecutor of the Lankaran region Mulkum Mahmudov reported on 26 October.
An investigation has been launched.
