Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 August / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi/ A total of 12,000 barrels of crude oil burned in an explosion on a section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in Turkey's Erzinjan province, Turkey's Cihan news agency said.
The accident took place in the 60th km of the Erzinjan-Refahiye highway nearby Yurtbashi village at night. The cause of the explosion has not yet been revealed. The height of the fire has been reported to reach 50m.
Two fire-engines of the Erzinjan State Airlines, one fire-engine and three water tanks of the Erzinjan municipality, two fire-engines, one excavator and one bulldozer of the Refahiye municipality are operating in the place of the incident.
The fire, which has lasted for 10 hours, is being extinguished.
