Mine blasts in west of Azerbaijan

A resident of Ahmedlilar village, Jafar Maharramov (41), was blown up by an anti-tank mine while ploughing the land by his tractor in the Garahanbeyli village of the Fizuli region on Aug.13 at 23:30, The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) told Trend News on Aug.14.

A mine blasted in the Fizuli region of Azerbaijan.

A resident of Ahmedlilar village, Jafar Maharramov (41), was blown up by an anti-tank mine while ploughing the land by his tractor in the Garahanbeyli village of the Fizuli region on Aug.13 at 23:30, The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Actions (ANAMA) told Trend on Aug.14.

Maharramov received slight injuries in his abdomen and hand. Despite the warning, which was made to prevent the people from danger, the agricultural work on dangerous areas continues.

By August, 107,644,692 sq. m. of area was demined and 468,170 unexploded ammunitions were detonated by ANAMA.

ANAMA carries out demining in Tartar, Agdam, Fuzuli, Agstafa regions of Azerbaijan and in Garadagh region of Baku.

In this period two cases of mine/unexploded ammunition cases were fixed, leaving three people injured.
