Two teenagers drowned in the basin of the Khanbulanchay river on Aug.20. Residents of the Imishli Region, 19-year old Muradov Tural and 16-year old Muradov Etibar drowned when swimming in the river, Deputy Prosecutor of the Lankaran region, Mulkum Mahmudov said.
Some residents of the Imishli Region who traveled to Istisu decided to swim in the river. Cold water cramped the two young people, who were cousins, and the river took them over. The bodies of the young men were found in depth of 8 meters. Majority of travelers was women and they could not swim, as a result nobody could help the young men, the same source said.
The parents of the late have already reported on the tragedy and bodies of the dead were sent to Imishli, Mahmudov added.
The case is under investigation of the Lankaran Region Prosecutor Office.
Three of the six similar incidents, which have occurred in the region this summer, took place in the Khanbulanchay river.
