A man pretending to be an employee of an Iranian charity committed fraud against a Georgian citizen in Azerbaijan this week.

An unknown individual introduced himself as an Iranian citizen and Iranian charity employee, and promised financial assistance to 59-year-old Georgian citizen Jeyran Kerimova.

He assured Kerimova that she would receive 1,400 manat in assistance and stole her gold ornaments, Nizami District Police Department No. 25 told Trend Nov. 3.

The victim appealed to the police after the incident.

The police are presently looking to identify the Iranian national guilty of fraud.
