The five-story dormitory, located in Yasamal district of Baku, burst into flame on Friday night, the official website of the ministry said.
Combustible construction of the apartment belonging to 61-year-old Rahman Jafarov burnt on the second floor of the building in an area of 60 square meters.
The injured people were taken to hospital.
Fire brigades, drawn to extinguish the fire, saved ten people, including four children. They evacuated 32 people and prevent the spread of flame.
The rescuers arrived on the scene and took the appropriate measures. They evacuated people together with employees of law enforcement bodies and other organizations.
The fire was extinguished at 18:40.
While examining the scene, the body of Rahman Jafarov was found.
According to the preliminary version, the explosion occurred due to leakage of household gas in the gas cylinder.
The investigation is underway.
