A terrorist act was prevented in the Turkish city of Van where Novruz festivities were planned to be held, Trend reported with reference to TRT Haber TV channel today.
As a result of special operations, the police found two kilogrammes of explosives. An investigation is underway.
Earlier it was reported that a number of terrorist attacks were planned to be held in anticipation of Novruz festivities in Istanbul, Diyarbekir, Adana and Mersin were prevented by Turkish police on March 16. About 15 suspects were arrested.
