Three out of 12 sailors of a dry cargo ship that sank off the Turkish coast, have been rescued, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Tuesday.

Twelve crew members are considered missing, 11 of which are Ukrainian citizens, one - a Russian citizen. It is reported that the dry cargo ship transporting coal sank near Istanbul.

Also, according to the TV channel, another dry cargo ship is drifting off the coast of Istanbul. The ship is flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda.

All sea crossings were cancelled because of the strong southwesterly winds in Istanbul, Turkish DHA news agency reported on Tuesday.

Forecasters warn that the unstable weather will continue this week.
