The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has identified a former serviceman who was detained as a result of search operations conducted by Russian Interpol officers.
He is Ilgar Yadigarov, who was transferred to the reserve in 2011 and was sought internationally.

Yadigarov was born in Sumgait in 1965. He served in the N- military unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and dealt with financial issues.

The Azerbaijani citizen was detained as a result of search operations conducted by the Irkutsk branch of Interpol, the Russian Interior Ministry's main administration on the Irkutsk region earlier reported.

Yadigarov was wanted on suspicion of committing fraud. Law enforcement officers said he was an official at the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence in 2010. While using his official position, he forged accountancy documents. As a result of his illegal actions, the ministry lost $125,000, according to the report.

'Yadigarov crossed the border of the Russian Federation by using another name and false documents in 2011', according to a report. 'Later he moved to the village of Khudoelanskoe in the Nizhneudin district of the Irkutsk region where he was a worker.

'He was identified as a result of an operational search. It was revealed that while trying to leave Russia, Yadigarov left by air with a transfer in Moscow. The Irkutsk Interpol officers immediately contacted colleagues from the Russian Interior Ministry's department at Domodedovo Airport (Moscow), who made an arrest and placed Yadigarov in a detention centre."
