Due to the explosion occurred at Sintezkauchuk (Synthesis Caoutchouc) on December 29, the Sumgayit City Public Prosecutor Office initiated a criminal case according to the Article 162.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic (breaching the technical security rules resulting in death), a source in the Sumgayit Public Prosecutor Office told Trend.
Mamadkhan Aliyev, an Investigator of the City Public Prosecutor Office has been occupied with the case. There is no a concrete person who could be brought to responsibility. This decision will be considered after a thorough examination of the scene of action, as well as after making reasons lead to the explosion more precise and collecting evidence.
Due to the explosion in the industrial area on producing butadiene of Sintezjauchuk Plant subjected to State Company Azerkimya, four employees were injured and two dead.
