Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend corr. N. Husseynli/ Gourban Yetirmishli, the Director-General of the Centre for Seismology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, has reported that an earthquake tremor occurred at 23:13 yesterday in the Guba territory, north-east of Guba Town. The strength of the tremor in Guba Town was 3 on the Richter Scale, 2.5 in Khachmaz, and 1.5 in Khudat.
Yetirmishli noted that there was activity in local earthquake sources but was considered as a natural process. According to him, since 2007, six minorearthquakes were registered in the country, three of them in Shaki, Lankaranm and Guba-Khachmaz in March, two in Khudat, Khachmaz, and Yardimli in January, and another in the Lankaran region in February.
Since the beginning of 2007, over 200 tremors have been registered within the Country.
