Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr K. Zarbaliyeva / A resident of Azerbaijan's Lankaran region has been detained for illegal manufacturing of medicines. According to the Azerbaijan National Security Ministry and the Health Ministry, a criminal case has been filed for Rafig Hajiyev, 47, who was manufacturing and selling low-quality medicines without registration or license.
While working as the director of Terpenoid PA in Lankaran's Kholmilli village Hajiyev produced 50 varieties of low-quality medicines named MFPP Terpenoid Lenfarm. The medicines were supplied to a range of drug-stores in Lankaran.
Hajiyev gave made-up names to the medicines and ordered labels and boxes for them in different printing-houses.
Faked medicines were revealed during an inspection.
General Prosecutor's Office is investigating the case.
