Summit in Vilnius to Assemble 5 Presidents

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr A. Gasimova / The Vilnius energy security summit to take place from 10 to 11 October in Lithuania will be attended by the presidents of 5 countries, according to a spokesman for Lithuanian President.

The Presidents to participate in the summit are Ilham Aliyev ( Azerbaijan), Mikhael Saakashvili ( Georgia), Valdas Adamkus ( Lithuania), Lech Kaczynski ( Poland), and Victor Yushchenko ( Ukraine).

The summit will be opened at the Presidential Palace on 10 October in the second half of the day and will be dedicated to ' New Ways for Strategic Supplies: Actions after Krakow Conference'. A press conference and an official dinner will take place afterwards. EU Energy Commissioner, Andris Piebalgs , is expected to deliver a report on ' EU's Response to Global Energy Challenges'.

On 11 October, a conference in Reval Hotel Lietuva will be opened by the speech of the Lithuanian President on the subject of 'Offers on Development EU's Foreign Energy Policy'. Then a round table on the subject of 'Energy Security Global Challenges and EU's Foreign Energy Policy' will be held. The next round table dedicated to 'Development of Energy Cooperation with Caspian and Black Sea Regions for Expansion of Energy Market' will be opened by Azerbaijani President. Romanian President, Traian Basesku , Ukrainian President, Victor Yushchenko , Georgian Prime Minister, Zurab Nogaideli , Turkmen Oil and gas Industry & Mineral Resources Minister, Baymirat Khojamukhammedov , Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Mehmet Hilmi Guler , and others are also expected to speak. After the dinner the results of the conference will be summed up and a concluding press conference will be held.

US Secretary of State's Assistant, Mathew Bryza , is expected to be in attendance. On the whole, representatives of over 20 countries will participate in the conference.
