Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan / Тrend corr E. Mammadov / A State Committee on Family, Woman, and Child Affairs has been established in Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR). The Speaker of NAR Parliament (Supreme Assembly), Vasif Talibov, signed a decree in this connection.
In compliance with the decree, NAR Cabinet was charged with development of a draft statute for the State Committee. The statute will be submitted to the Speaker for approval.
The area of NAR is 5.5km sq m, which constitutes 6.4% of the Azerbaijan's territory. Nakhchivan consists of Babek, Sharur, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, Julfa and Kangarli regions. Nakhchivan AR with its capital in Nakhchivan city has the population of 380,200 people.
